Common questions
- The scanner didn't recognise my pack.
- Hold the pack flat in good light so the breeder and strain name fill the frame. Stylised or metallic print is harder to read; you can take a photo instead, or turn on AI pack reading under Stats → AI Pack Reading and tap Ask. If it's still wrong, tap Add by Hand and the catalog will suggest matches as you type.
- Where do I turn on AI pack reading, and what does it cost?
- Stats → AI Pack Reading. Choose Claude, OpenAI or Gemini, paste an API key from your own account with that provider, and tap Test. You pay the provider directly for what you use, which is a fraction of a cent per pack. SeedTrackr never sees the key or the bill.
- My germination reminders aren't arriving.
- Check Stats → Germination Reminders is on, then check iPhone Settings → Notifications → SeedTrackr allows notifications. Reminders fire at 9 in the morning on day 3 and day 7 of any pop that has no result yet.
- How do I get my collection onto another iPhone?
- Sign in to the same iCloud account on both phones with iCloud Drive on, and the collection syncs on its own. For a copy you can keep, Stats → Export Collection saves a JSON file you can import anywhere.
- Does it work with GrowTrackr?
- Yes. Stats → Send to GrowTrackr shares your collection, and GrowTrackr's Seed Catalog imports it with From SeedTrackr. Sending again updates the packs you sent before.
- The widget shows old numbers.
- Open SeedTrackr once and the widget refreshes. iOS also refreshes it each midnight so the day count moves on its own.
- Can I get a refund?
- Purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose SeedTrackr.
