Privacy Policy
SeedTrackr is made by Jason Berardi. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the SeedTrackr app for iPhone.
The short version: SeedTrackr has no account, no sign-up, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The developer does not collect, receive, sell or share your data.
Your collection
Everything you enter, including packs, photos, notes, germination records and prices, is stored on your iPhone. If iCloud is turned on for SeedTrackr, it is also synced to your own private iCloud account so it appears on your other devices. That copy is held by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, and the developer cannot see it.
You can export your collection as a JSON file at any time. Exported files go only where you send them.
The strain catalog
SeedTrackr downloads its strain catalog from straintrackr.com. These requests contain no information about you or your collection. As with any website, the server may briefly log technical details such as your IP address to keep the service running.
Reading seed packs
When you scan a pack, the camera image is read on your iPhone. It is not uploaded anywhere.
AI pack reading is off unless you turn it on. If you choose an AI provider (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI or Google Gemini) and enter your own API key, then when you ask it to read a pack, the photo of that pack is sent directly from your iPhone to the provider you chose. It does not pass through any server run by the developer. The provider handles the photo under its own terms and privacy policy and under your account with them. Your API key is stored in your iPhone's Keychain and is never backed up, synced or exported by SeedTrackr.
Notifications
Germination reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. No notification content is sent to the developer.
Children
SeedTrackr is not intended for anyone under the age of majority where they live.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
